Meet the Characters:
The Narrators & Game Teachers
Meet Scarlett
Scarlett addresses the students in the audience to get them involved and keep them engaged.
Bright, happy, energetic, and confident. Hard-working; loves learning. Baffle Away Bullying! narrator and game teacher.
Scarlett loves learning and demonstrates great behavior in the classroom throughout the show.
Scarlett works in just enough silliness with her expressions and movement to lighten up the tone of the message. She makes learning the tactics to deflect attempts at bullying accessible for the youngest school-aged students.
Meet Brandon
Loves sports but not the best athlete. Goofball. Loves making his friends laugh. Super likeable. Baffle Away Bullying! narrator and game teacher.
Choosing a book for silent reading. Brandon always demonstrates respectful classrom behavior.
Brandon asking the students in the audience about their favorite games. He loves getting the audience to participate!
Brandon being Brandon! His high energy keeps young audiences laughing and enagaged.
Meet Caroline
Focusing in class and tuning out the noise of bullying behavior around her.
Caroline addresses the audience in her own sweet way, so that even the shyest students can feel encouraged to participate.
Sweet, shy, quiet, loveable, and kind. Baffle Away Bullying! narrator and game teacher.
Feeling confident and ready to baffle. If Caroline can do it, so can you!
Meet the Characters:
The Kids Who Bully
Meet Amber: The Controller
Dominant and bossy. Wants to control everyone and keep them in their place.
Amber acting innocent so their teacher, Mrs. Smith, won’t catch her.
Amber pestering her neighbor when Mrs. Smith’s back is turned.
Amber being disruptive in class.
Meet Jack: The Ringleader
Jack verbally abusing a classmate.
Jack judging a classmate who asks the teacher a question.
Ringleader. Regularly stirs up trouble. Enjoys making other kids feel bad.
Jack messing around when he should be doing classwork.
Meet Olivia: The Follower
Olivia does lots of entertaining things in the background to keep the audience entertained – so they pay attention to what’s happening on stage.
Follower. Queen bee Samantha’s BFF; goes along with everything Samantha does.
Actually doing the math assignment. Olivia sometimes chooses the right behavior when Samantha isn’t nearby, demonstrating to the audience that you choose better behavior.
Letting her opinion about a classmate be known with an eyeroll.
Meet Robert: The Disrespectful Kid
Robert shows a range of emotions during the show: mad, sad, irritated, lonely. More mature audience members might wonder if there’s something going on in Robert’s life that’s making him treat others so poorly.
Trying to make a classmate feel bad by laughing at their artwork.
Messing up the books in the classroom library.
Follower. Not a happy kid. Goes along with whatever Jack does. Toward the end of the performance, something wonderful happens with Robert: he realizes that he can choose to treat others better.
Meet Samantha: The Future Queen Bee
Future queen bee. In charge and wants everyone to do what she says. Thinks the rules don’t apply to her.
Samantha doesn’t like not getting her way.
All too happy to hear a good rumor.
In a huff.
